Opis zadań:

The successful candidate will participate in research tasks realization within the Maestro project "Soft perovskites - new paradigm of semiconductors engineering", led by Prof. Paulina Płochocka. In this project we make a general hypothesis that the vast majority of the opto-electronic properties of 2D perovskites are actually determined by a single parameter, namely the octahedral distortion. We expect that the structural parameters of 2D perovskites are directly correlated not only with the bandgap, but are also directly responsible for important parameters such as the carrier effective mass and the electron-phonon coupling. The octahedral distortion can be imposed inherently, by the organic spacers or externally using pressure or strain. Gaining an understanding of the complex mutual relation between octahedral distortion and optoelectronic properties will initiate a new direction in tuning the optoelectronic properties of the 2D perovskites to create semiconductors with strictly desired properties.
The candidate will be responsible for
1. Closing samples in diamond anvil cells and performing pressure-dependent optical spectroscopy studies
2. Preparation and supervision of the experimental setup for pressure-dependent studies
3. Preparation of scientific publications in accordance with the requirements of target scientific journals.
