Nazwa stanowiska: assistant/asystent
Wymagania:
Requirements:
- Master Degree in oceanography or equivalent (e.g., marine geology, natural sciences, marine sciences)
- Documented knowledge on using biomarkers (alkenones, IP25) in the paleoceanographic reconstructions
- Experience in micropaleontological investigations of Arctic foraminifera (benthonic and planktonic) and pollen analysis
- Experience in x-ray fluorescence and magnetic susceptibility scanning of the sediment material
- Excellent knowledge of software like R, Grapher, CorelDraw
- High motivation for scientific work
- Very good English written and verbal communication skills
- Authorship/co-authorship of scientific papers and conference presentations in the field of oceanography/paleoceanohgraphy
- Experience in field research and research cruises will be appreciated
Tasks description:
- Collecting sediment samples (sediment cores) for micropaleontological, palynological, sedimentological, geochemical and biomarker analyses; the successful candidate is expected to participate in scientific cruises
- Isolation of calcium carbonate material (bivalvia shells, shells of foraminifera) for radiocarbon datings and stable isotopes analysis
- Preparation and analysis of benthic and planktic foraminifera samples
- Writing scientific publications
- Presentation of the results at international scientific conferences
