Position description:
Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, is looking for a candidate for the Postdoctoral Fellowship (1 year with the possibility of second year extension) in Institute of Advanced Materials, Faculty of Chemistry, within the National Science Centre Poland project OPUS 24 No UMO-2022/47/B/ST5/01138: “Energy storing particles for recharged luminescence bio-tracking and therapy”. The work will involve mainly the synthesis of nanomaterials showing persistent luminescence and the characterization of their physico-chemical properties, i.e., TEM, XRD and SEM measurements. Additionally, the work will involve spectroscopic measurements (absorption, emission including persistent luminescence and lifetime measurements) of obtained materials and presenting them for bio-related applications.

Requirements:
• PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry or equivalent obtained not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project (note: this period does not include breaks related to maternity or paternity leave).
• Experience in carrying out synthesis and optical characterization of colloidal nanomaterials including lanthanide doped ones and data analysis.
• Experience in construction of spectroscopic measurements setups.
• Scientific publications in high impact JCR listed journals.
• Ability to conduct independent research as well as work closely with other team members to achieve project aims.
• Fluency in English.

If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.

• Measurements and analysis of nanoparticles crystal structure and morphology, based on XRD, TEM and SEM measurements.
• Spectroscopic measurements (absorption, emission spectra and kinetics) and data analysis.
• Preparing the scientific papers and publishing results of research in JCR listed journals.

The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be … (wpisać godz.) on the day indicated in the information about the competition. Receipt of the documents from the candidate will be confirmed by the assistant/HR assistant via e-mail to the address indicated in the application.
Candidates' applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee appointed by (wpisać wnioskodawcę i organizatora konkursu). After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up from the assistant/HR assistant within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.

The University stipulates that the competition may not be concluded.

Before establishing an employment relationship with the person who wins the competition, Wrocław University of Science and Technology will verify them in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 13 May 2016 on Counteracting Sexual Crime Threats and Protecting Minors. Data necessary for this verification (PESEL number or, in the absence thereof, maiden name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth) will be obtained only from the selected person and should not be provided at the application stage.
