Requirements:
- 1st degree in biology, biochemistry or related field obtained
- the candidate must be formally enlisted in MSc studies in Poland
- basic experience in laboratory work
- good knowledge of the principles of cell and molecular biology
- basic knowledge of the principles of developmental biology
- good knowledge of English
- interest in developmental biology research, motivation and passion for experimental work
- willingness to learn and take new challenges, analytical thinking, availability
- good interpersonal skills
- research experience abroad will be a plus
- prior experience in research using animal models, particularly zebrafish, will be an advantage but is not essential
As a Master’s student you will be involved in performing functional analysis of selected candidate genes and/or enhancers using various approaches, including gene knockdown, CRISPR mutagenesis, qRT-PCR, as well as morphological characterization of zebrafish embryos by microscopy.

You will join the project entitled “Reconstructing cardiovascular cell lineage evolution, one cell at a time”, which is carried out as the OPUS 2019/35/B/NZ2/02548 grant of the Polish National Science Centre.
The project aims to elucidate the epigenetic contribution towards cardiovascular lineage diversity and discover novel genes and regulatory elements involved in this process.
