The Photonics Materials and Structures group is a laboratory dedicated to researching the interaction between light and matter, specifically focusing on the intrinsic properties of materials and their fabrication tuning. Our interests lie in exploring novel materials capable of emitting, detecting, reflecting, transmitting, converting, manipulating, and controlling light, including perovskites and chalcogenides. In terms of structures, we emphasize various forms of confinement, such as zero-dimensional (quantum dots), one-dimensional (nanowires), two-dimensional (thin films or monolayers), and three-dimensional (single crystals) structures. Additionally, we evaluate complex photonic structures like photonic crystals, plasmonic metasurfaces, and disorder. Our research encompasses both fundamental studies and practical applications, particularly in the fields of LEDs, lasers, and scintillators. We observe a wide range of wavelengths, spanning from ultraviolet-visible to telecommunication wavelengths.
Currently, we are recruiting a POSTDOC for a project “Fast and bright Purcell-enhanced perovskite scintillator” financed by National Science Center (NCN) grant Opus no. 2022/47/B/ST5/01966. For more information please follow link: https://projekty.ncn.gov.pl/en/index.php?projekt_id=576417
