Nazwa stanowiska: PhD student (2 stanowiska)
Wymagania:
• Master’s degree in Environmental/Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience in laboratory work, including biomass pretreatment, algal cultivation, reactor operation, and result interpretation.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office programs, particularly Word and Excel; additional knowledge of Origin and MATLAB is preferred.
• English communication skills, both oral and written is required.
• Additional scientific activities (e.g., publications, conference presentations) and organizational activities (e.g., organizing workshops, training sessions, and conferences) are highly preferred.
The research tasks framed within the NCN OPUS project, "Food Waste Biorefinery for Sustainable Production of Next-Generation Algal-Based Bioproducts," will be implemented. The project focuses on optimizing food waste pretreatment conditions, enhancing microalgae growth by varying feedstock, recovering biofuels and value-added products from waste biomass. These research tasks will be equally shared between two PhD students.
Responsibilities of the Candidates: Conducting scientific research on food waste, obtaining experimental results, analyzing data, and contributing to the preparation of scientific publications and conference reports. Additionally involve in active collaboration in research projects conducted within the department.

Warunki zatrudnienia:
• The doctoral thesis research work will be framed based on the research objectives proposed in the OPUS 27 project entitled “Food Waste Biorefinery for Sustainable Production of Next-Generation Algal-Based Bioproducts," funded by the NCN.
• The PhD student will receive a doctoral scholarship of PLN 3,467 gross per month for the first 24 months. After a positive mid-term evaluation, the scholarship will increase to PLN 5,341 gross per month for the subsequent 24 months.
