The Assistant Professor will participate in the implementation of a research project focused on developing a microfluidic model of the microbiota-gut-brain axis (MGBA-on-chip). Their responsibilities will include designing and testing the microplatform, including optimization of protocols for culturing intestinal epithelial cells and differentiating human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) into functional neurons. The postdoc will be responsible for establishing stable co-cultures of intestinal and neuronal cells, as well as integrating and biologically validating the MGBA-on-chip system (e.g., using molecular techniques). Additional duties include data analysis and interpretation, preparing reports, writing scientific articles, and active participation in conferences. The candidate is also expected to support partial supervision of a PhD student, including mentoring and assisting in the development of research skills.
