Requirements:
NCN scholarships may be awarded to a person who meets the following criteria:
- Either (a) a student of a full-time second-cycle degree program or (b) a doctoral student at a university in Poland.
In addition:
Strong quantitative background, i.e., degree(s) in a quantitative subject such as Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences etc,
Working knowledge of programming languages (R/Python/FORTRAN or similar),
Professional knowledge of English,
Strong motivation to conduct research in the field of the project.
Scope of work:
According to the proposals for funding of research project “Crowd management in urban spaces: Developing a unified framework for simulating realistic human movement trajectories”, no. 2022/47/D/HS4/02576 (SONATA). In particular:
Developing codes for quantitative analysis or simulation of pedestrian trajectories,
Model calibration and testing,
Presenting results at research conferences,
Literature survey and supplementary editorial work (for publications).

The scholarship will be awarded from the 1st of February, 2026. Salary 3000 PLN/month (it is the so-called “employer gross”). The scholarship agreement will be signed for a duration of 6 months. This could be extended depending on the performance of the student and a possible extension of the project.
