Dodatkowe informacje:

The μPPET [mu(μ)on Probe with J-PET] project aims to investigate the "muon puzzle" from high-energy cosmic rays using two PET detection systems developed at the Jagiellonian University (J-PET). This puzzle is related to the observation of a much larger number of muons on the earth's surface than it results from current theoretical models. This project will test specific hypotheses, and studying the muon puzzle in the guise of the envisioned update of hadronic interaction models requires detailed information on muons at the ground, such as track and charge distributions, which are affected by polarisations and cannot be measured using other existing experiments. μPPET will conduct two studies in parallel: one to modify the models of hadron interactions and the other to provide the necessary measurements to fine-tune them and verify their predictions. The experimental configuration will use two available J-PET detection systems: an existing prototype and a modular final detector, which are uased, respectively, as a probe and as a scintillator array for reconstructing the core of the atmospheric shower. More information about the project can be found on the https://projekty.ncn.gov.pl/en/index.php?projekt_id=598980 website.

The first stage of the selection procedure is the formal assessment of the submitted documents. Applications which meet all formal requirements are the subject of substantive assessment, during which an interview with the Candidate (F/M) may be conducted (directly or via electronic communication channels), upon settling the date of the interview with the Candidate (F/M). During the interview, the soft competencies indicated in the announcement will also be verified. The Candidate (F/M) has the right to appeal against the negative assessment by the selection board within 7 days from receiving the information about the results of the assessment. The selection procedure is conducted in accordance with The Policy of Open, Transparent and Merit-Based Recruitment Process at the Jagiellonian University.
