Other requirements:
1) A PhD degree in social sciences or humanities;
2) According to NCN guidelines, to be eligible for the call, one:
a) must have been awarded a PhD degree recognized in Poland in the year of employment in the project or within 7 years before 1 January of the year of employment in the project ;
b) must have been awarded their PhD degree by an institution other than the University of Warsaw, or must have completed at least a 10-month (continuous) postdoctoral fellowship in another institution abroad;
c) will not be receiving any other remuneration paid from the funds granted to research projects under NCN calls under the heading of direct costs;
d) during the period of receiving the remuneration from the project, will not be receiving any remuneration from another employer (including one from abroad) under an employment contract;
e) during the period of receiving the remuneration, will not receive pension benefits from the social security system.
3) Experience in conducting qualitative research, including conducting and analysing data from in-depth interviews and ethnographic research;
4) Knowledge of the Belarusian language, both spoken and written;
5) Knowledge of the Polish language, both spoken and written;
6) Knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
In addition, we expect:
1) Excellent knowledge of social science methodology, in particular qualitative research methods and computer-assisted analysis;
2) Critical thinking, communication and organisational skills;
3) Publication record appropriate for the given stage of career;
4) Ability to work independently and as part of a reserch team.
The following would be an advantage:
5) Interest in the subject of migration (research experience and theoretical knowledge);
6) Knowledge of spoken and written Ukrainian.
If hired, we expect the University of Warsaw to be the primary workplace for the successful candidate.
1) Collecting qualitative data, including conducting interviews in several locations (Warsaw, Białystok, Wrocław, Przemyśl);
2) Monitoring and reporting on progress in data collection, including verification of the quality of interview transcripts and translations, and preparation of interview data for archiving, including pseudonymisation;
3) Analysis of collected data, including data coding using computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software;
4) (Co-)authoring articles for peer-reviewed scientific journals and other publications on the project results;
5) (Co-)authoring presentations of the project results at conferences and seminars;
6) Activities to disseminate the project results.

Fixed-term contract of employment, full-time employment from 01.06.2026, 24 months
Basic remuneration PLN 8 855 gross/month (including taxes, social security contributions and allowance for years of service) plus the additional annual remuneration
