Qualifications:
1. PhD degree in Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Chemical Technology/ Chemical engineering/ Environmental
engineering or a closely related field conferred in the years 2014-2026. This period may be extended by a time of long-term (in excess of 90 days) documented sick leaves or rehabilitation leaves granted on account of being unfit to work. In addition, the period may be extended by the number of months of a
childcare leave granted pursuant to the Labour Code and in the case of women, by 18 months for every child born or adopted, whichever manner of accounting for career breaks is preferable. For researchers with multiple PhDs, the date of the first PhD award is deemed the reference date.
2. Experience in fermentation processes, downstream processing methods, product separation; Interest in and/or experience with gas chromatography, especially GC-MS;
3. Aptitude for conducting scientific experimental research, organisational skills, strong motivation for scientific work, creativity in problem-solving, independence, ability to work in a team, and a desire for self-improvement
4. Strong spoken and written communication skills; Good organisation skills and analytical thinking;
5. Proven early carrier track of records;
6. English language is expected to be at least at B2/C1 level.

Opis zadań:

What do we offer:
A chance to join in a driven and young team Bioref Research Group (https://bioref.put.poznan.pl/) focused on development in the field of environmental biotechnology and recovery of valuable compounds from organic waste in accordance with the assumptions of the circular economy; mutual consultations and support; participation in national and international conferences.

Project description:
In this project the primary objective is an in-depth evaluation of the feasibility of agro-industrial organic by-products and wastewater valorisation into microbial bio-oils through novel biotechnological strategies. In the bioprocesses type strains of a non-conventional oleaginous yeast (e.g. C. curvatus, L. lipofer, R. mucilaginosa) and open culture microorganisms will be used. Natural abilities of the oleaginous microorganisms of high lipid-accumulation under a steered engineered environment will be investigated, followed by leading-edge analyses of created bacterial-yeast microbiomes, and downstream processing of achieved bio-oils to be developed as a final step. The crutial part aim to develop an ex-situ recovery pipeline of produced lipids by investigating the impact of different separation methods on the lipids yields and quality with subsequent lipids' profile determination.
Main tasks: work conceptualization, performing cultivation processes, analytical analyses, downstream processing and biooils separation, lipids profiles analyses, papers preparation, results dissemination to scientific community in the field.
