Wymagania:

The competition is open to individuals who meet the requirements set out in:
● Article 113 of the Law of July 20, 2018 on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, consolidated text), and the Statute of the University of Warsaw (Monitor UW of 2019 r. pos. 190 with amendments) , and
● the Regulations on awarding funding for research tasks funded by the National Science Centre as regards research projects
Furthermore, applicants must meet the following requirements:
● hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the discipline of philosophy, logic, or mathematics obtained no earlier than 12 years before the year of employment in the project
● being able to conduct advanced research in the field of formal philosophy. The ability should be proven by publications and/or an attached text sample,
● Having a good basic grasp of one of the following fields of mathematical logic: nonstandard models of arithmetic or set-theory, proof theory, set theory, probability theory.
● exhibit an advanced command of the English language, both written and spoken, i.e. command of English at the level of C1 (Advanced) or C2 (Proficient) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Limitations:
● A candidate’s PhD degree must have been awarded by another institution than the one planned to employ him/her at the post-doc position, or s/he has completed a continuous and evidenced post-doctoral fellowship of at least 10 months in another institution than the host institution for the project and in another country than the one in which they have been conferred a PhD degree.

An additional advantage for the candidate will be:
• Research experience gained in Poland or abroad, including participation in research projects, conferences, seminars, and scientific workshops (training courses), as well as research internships and other academic visits.
• Scholarships, distinctions, and awards for academic work.
• Experience in organizational and popularization of science activities.

If hired, we expect the University of Warsaw to be the primary workplace for the successful candidate.

Opis zadań:

A person employed in a post-doc position will be involved in carrying out the research tasks of the grant, concerning the formal and philosophical analysis of reflection principles of various types. Detailed tasks will be determined in agreement with the selected candidate.

The responsibilities of the person employed in the post-doc position will include:

• Reliable and timely execution of the research tasks mentioned above, in accordance with the work plan jointly established with the project leader.
• Regular and active participation in research team meetings. Collaboration with the project leader and other team members aimed at exchanging and developing knowledge related to the project’s subject matter, as well as joint work on research tasks and publications.
• Publishing the obtained research results in recognized academic journals and publishing houses with international reach.
• Presenting research results at major national and international conferences and scientific seminars.
• Assisting in the organization of activities promoting and disseminating the research results obtained within the project, including conferences and seminars.

The post-doc position does not involve any teaching duties, but those who are willing will have the opportunity to gain such experience.

Warunki zatrudnienia:

Assistant Professor [in PL: Adiunkt] – a post-doc type position
at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Warsaw

Employment contract, 100% of full-time employment
Expected date of the commencement of work: July 2026.
Employment period: 36 months
Annual (12 months) super gross remuneration: PLN 140,000
Monthly remuneration: circa PLN 8900,00 gross (including basic remuneration + allowance for years of service), plus the additional (“13th”) annual remuneration.

• Workplace: Faculty of Philosophy, University of Warsaw
• Funding for participation in conferences and scientific seminars, as well as for the purchase of specialized academic literature.
• Funding for the purchase of a computer for work (laptop).
• Professional administrative support for conducting research and disseminating its results.
• Work in an active, interdisciplinary international team.
• Opportunities for professional development.

Note:
During the period of receiving a salary under the project, a person employed in a post-doc position cannot:
• receive any other salary from funds granted under the direct costs of research projects financed in NCN competitions;
• be employed by another employer under an employment contract, including an employer based outside Poland;
• receive pension benefits from the social insurance system.

The university does not provide housing.
