Requirements for the candidate:
• Master's degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or related field
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture is required. Experience with stem cell culture (e.g., iPSCs) or primary cells would be an advantage but is not essential
• Experience with biochemical and molecular biology techniques
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate experimental records.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in written and spoken English.
As a PhD student, you will develop human neuronal reporter lines to investigate nucleocytoplasmic transport, apply state-of-the-art mass spectrometry to map protein localization, and use CRISPR/Cas9 combined with inducible degron systems to probe protein function. You will uncover mechanisms underlying observed phenotypes and explore their role in early neuronal degeneration in models Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease. The project offers the opportunity to design and drive your own experiments, gain expertise in cutting-edge methodologies, and contribute to high-impact publications.
Your role will also include conducting literature reviews to contextualize your findings, actively participating in lab meetings, presenting your work at national and international conferences, and contributing to the writing of research publications and your PhD thesis.

1. Full-time PhD scholarship 4 years (8 semesters) in amount:
a) before the mid-term evaluation 5500 pln net/month;
b) after mid-term evaluation 6000 pln net/month
