Postdoctoral position in the OPUS 27 project titled “Advancing patient-centred care for individuals with frequent use of the emergency” (UMO- 2024/53/B/NZ7/02552)
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Candidates should have:
- a Ph.D. in biostatistics, epidemiology, mathematics, economics, psychology, sociology, engineering, health research methods, public health, or a related field, obtained not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment (accounting for parental and other long-term leaves according to NCN rules)
Additionally, the following are required:
- documented experience working with administrative health databases and assisting in the project management of research teams
- excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
- research experience, as evidenced by publications in international scientific journals, and demonstrated ability to conduct and present research independently, including the ability to formulate research questions, analyze data using statistical tools, write scientific papers, and present at scientific conferences
- availability to work in person in Kraków
- meeting the formal requirements for employment as a postdoc in NCN-funded (National Science Centre Poland) research projects
OBJECTIVES OF EMPLOYMENT
The individual hired for the postdoctoral position will act as a researcher in the OPUS project. The goal of the project is to examine the patient characteristics and patterns of health care utilization among individuals with frequent use of the emergency department, including in prehospital and inpatient care, and to propose evidence-based recommendations for policymakers to improve patient-centred health care.
Responsibilities:
- Project management and coordination of data collection
- Statistical analysis of quantitative data from hospital databases
- Preparation and presentation of research findings
- Close collaboration with the Principal Investigator, co-investigators, and students
- Developing research concepts and methodologies
- Analyzing and archiving data, as well as preparing scientific publications and conference presentations
- Co-supervision of scholarship students within the research project
DURATION
12 months (with the possibility of extension to 24 months)
SALARY
140 000 PLN annually (inclusive of employer’s costs)
