Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Master's degree in Psychology, or expected completion of a Master's degree no later than 22 September 2026.
• Strong motivation to undertake doctoral studies and obtain a doctoral degree on a topic within the framework of the project under the supervision of the project leader.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written (Polish proficiency is not required).
• Some proficiency and experience in advanced statistical techniques and software (SPSS and/or R), as well as willingness to learn new statistical techniques and additional software.
• Research interests in political psychology, including nostalgia as a factor potentially shaping populist attitudes, social polarization, and preferences for populist and authoritarian leaders with Dark Tetrad traits (i.e. Machiavellianism, narcissism, psychopathy, sadism).
• Previous experience in conducting scientific research.
• Excellent communication skills and academic writing skills in English.
• Awareness of the task-based nature of the work, requiring full commitment to the project tasks, including full time availability (with the possibility of occasional weekend work) and email and communication availability six days a week. The project leader will make every effort to ensure that weekend work remains rare.
• Active participation in the life of the Faculty of Psychology, including attendance at department meetings and organizational activities.
• Regular and active participation in research team meetings, held most often on Tuesdays, including presenting research results and progress updates.
• High motivation, conscientiousness, curiosity, and genuine passion for academic work, understood as more than just fulfilling listed professional duties.
Additional assets:
• Documented participation in research projects.
• Experience in writing scientific articles (co-authorship of publications).
• Participation in scientific conferences.
• Participation in courses or academic classes related to nostalgia, the Dark Triad/Tetrad, populism, social polarization, or related topics.
• Good academic results, particularly in statistics and methodology courses.
Responsibilities:
The scholar recipient will be involved in all tasks related to the project implementation, including: literature reviews, research and instrument design, participant recruitment, data collection, statistical analyses, and interpretation of results. Co-authoring manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and preparing comprehensive research reports. Collaborating with team members and external researchers while maintaining regular communication. Contributing to knowledge dissemination through conference presentations and academic publications. Promoting the project through website management and social media content creation. Assisting with administrative tasks including data management, documentation, and grant reporting. All tasks will be carried out under the guidance and supervision of the project leader. • A scholarship of 4346 PLN gross per month for the first 24 months and 5500,50 PLN gross per month for the subsequent 12 months
