- during the period of receiving this remuneration, the candidate must not receive any other remuneration from direct costs of NCN-funded research projects;
- during the period of receiving this remuneration, the candidate must not be employed by another employer under an employment contract, including an employer outside Poland;
- during the period of receiving this remuneration, the candidate must not receive pension benefits from the social security system.
Required scientific and technical qualifications:
- PhD degree in a relevant field, for example electrical engineering, electronics, biomedical engineering, computer science, physics, applied mathematics, automation and robotics, medical physics, or a related discipline;
- strong programming skills in Python and/or MATLAB, with experience in scientific computing;
- documented experience in at least one of the following areas: deep learning/neural networks, inverse problems, tomographic image reconstruction, computational imaging, numerical simulation, or surrogate/forward modeling;
- ability to conduct independent research and to document computational experiments reproducibly;
- good command of English in a research environment, both written and spoken;
- ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
Additional qualifications:
- experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX or similar deep-learning frameworks;
- experience with GPU training, HPC environments, large-scale datasets, or model optimization;

- peer-reviewed publications or preprints in imaging, inverse problems, machine learning, scientific computing, or related fields;
- experience with open-source research software, version control, and reproducible workflows.
The postdoctoral researcher will work primarily on the computational imaging and machine learning components of the project. The main duties will include:
- developing and optimizing deep neural network architectures for high-resolution ECT image reconstruction;
- implementing training, validation, and evaluation pipelines for high-dimensional reconstruction models;
- collaborating on simulation strategies and data augmentation methods for large-scale synthetic training datasets;
- contributing to the development of a neural-network-based forward/surrogate model to accelerate training data generation;
- analyzing reconstruction performance, including image quality metrics, artifacts, robustness, uncertainty, inference time, memory use, and generalization to unseen objects;
