We are looking for a highly motivated researcher to work on engineering of liquid metals. The project explores morphology and spatial composition of the surface of liquid metals and its behavior upon modification with macromolecular surfactants. The study is not trivial as such interfaces are highly dynamic and their minor modifications may lead to dramatic consequences on series of properties, such as chemical reactivity, rheology, or conductivity. Understanding interfacial chemistry of liquid metals is essential in the development of novel materials for soft robotics, wearable electronics, or power generators.
Requirements:
With a PhD degree in chemistry or related sciences (required in the first day of work at the latest), acquired maximum 12 years prior the application date
good knowledge of English (at least B2 level)
experience in materials science; synthesis of polymers (RAFT
polymerization, ATRP), modification of surfaces or nanoparticles
familiarized with analysis of polymers (GPC, NMR, FTIR)
familiarized with analysis surfaces and nanoparticles (XPS, DLS, SEM,
TEM)
team working skills
