Wymagania:
o To be a PhD student at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology UJ at the time of start.
o Motivated to do basic scientific research.
o Good spoken and written English.
o Knowledge of programming languages.
o Proven experience in evolutionary biology research.
o Proven expertise in applying bioinformatics for research.
o Experience in phylogenetics, comparative genomics, or similar
o Conducting research in the field of genome evolution.
o Participate in the lab activities, such as lab meetings.
o Participate in shared tasks of the laboratory.
o Participate in teaching activities.
We offer the opportunity to work in a research team that is carrying out the scientific project No. UMO-2023/50/E/NZ8/00076 entitled “Genetic basis of animal adaptation to human habitats in living spaces; Insights from cockroach genomes”.
In this project, our expert team of interdisciplinary researchers will analyse the genetic basis of cockroach adaptation to human indoor habitats using a multi-scale approach. This project will involve generating and comparing reference genomes for cockroach species living in human habitats and cockroach species living in the wild.

The scholarship holder will be selected by a three-member competition committee, applying the scoring rules in accordance with the NCN Regulations for the Award of Scientific Scholarships in Research Projects Funded by the National Science Centre. The competition will be concluded by 31 August 2026. The unit presenting the scholarship offer reserves the right to contact the selected Candidates.
