Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Physics, Photonics, or a related discipline.
- General knowledge on quantum mechanics, quantum optics and SPDC process.
- Basic knowledge on ETPA.
- Basic experience in describing quantum optical effects using the Heisenberg representation.
- Very good command of spoken and written English.
Description of duties:
The student's aim will be the theoretical characterization of photon-pair generation statistics in spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) process, in relation with the degree of spectral correlation created between these photons. The student will also study the influence of the statistics modification on the performance of applications utilizing SPDC photon pairs, including entangled two-photon absorption (ETPA).
