Employment conditions:
A scholarship in the amount of PLN 2500 per month.
Planned period of employment: 6 months from December 1st to May 31st.
Additional information:
The scholarship is awarded in accordance with the rules set out in the Regulations on the Award of Research Scholarships of the National Science Centre, adopted by Resolution No. 124/2022 of the Council of the National Science Centre dated 1 December 2022.
The primary goal of the project is to construct a unique high-resolution two-dimensional spectroscopy setup that utilizes optical frequency combs and an optical cavity. This system will enable direct measurements of the time evolution of optical coherence velocity distributions in the gas phase, collisional coherence transfer, and correlations between vibrational modes in polyatomic molecules. Beyond its fundamental significance for molecular physics, chemical physics, and atmospheric research, the developed technique will also be applicable to determining molecular concentrations in multicomponent gas mixtures.
Our research employs and advances state-of-the-art optical and photonic technologies with broad commercial and scientific applications, see companies such as Mode-Locked Technology (Poland), Fluence Technology (Poland), Menlo Systems (Germany), Ekspla (Lithuania), Light Conversion (Lithuania) and so on. Research concerning the generation and manipulation of ultrashort pulses and their interaction with matter has been repeatedly recognized with Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry—notably in 2023, 2018, 2005, and 1999, as well as in earlier years.
Laboratory work in the project encompasses many tasks related to generation and manipulation of ultrashort laser pulses, their interaction
with gas samples and time-spectral analysis of the pulses. The scope of topics includes: fiber lasers, nonlinear and ultrafast optics, electronics,
programming (data analysis, experiment control), vacuum technology. Modeling, simulations, calculations.
