antibiotic stewardship hospital-acquired infections clinical diagnostic approaches low-middle incoming countries
The Antimicrobial Stewardship Unit at our institution was established with the primary goal of enhancing clinical diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Our expertise lies in managing bacterial bloodstream infections, urological and post-surgical infections, prosthetic joint infections, and diabetic foot infections. We utilize this proficiency to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) across various populations, encompassing both hospitalized patients and those in long-term care facilities. Given our institution\'s dedication to combating neglected tropical diseases and fostering international collaboration, we are committed to advocating for antimicrobial stewardship initiatives in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
In alignment with this mission, our team is eager to participate in multi-centric projects targeting AMR. Specifically, we seek to contribute to endeavors aimed at refining clinical diagnostic pathways and therapeutic interventions in environments prone to the emergence of antimicrobial resistance, both in High and LMICs. By leveraging our collective expertise and resources, we aim to bolster efforts in combating AMR on a global scale and improving patient outcomes in vulnerable populations.
