Animal Health Environment
AMR
I have expertise in animal health and Food Safety. I have screened AMR in pathogens from milk in Rwanda and had a number of good courses on antibiotics and antibiotics resistance during my Ph.D. that I have already completed in Sweden at the Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences ( but now working with the University of Rwanda) including: NDPIA] NDPIA/IBA course on Antibiotics and Antibiotic Resistance outside Gothenburg, Sweden 26-30 November 2018. • Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) and clinical breakpoints course, Upsala Sweden, December 2017. • Effective livestock production with low use of antibiotics, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU, 2018. I have a team of two junior scientists who may be part of the project as Ph.D. (a form of local capacity building) At my workplace (University of Rwanda)
I am interested in reducing AMR in Rwanda and in East Africa ( Joining a project with such a goal) as there is a high prevalence of AMR in livestock pathogens which may potentially transmit to humans through food (very interested in the food safety aspect).
