resitome genes surveillance IT spatial modeling
Experience on risk assessment of veterinary medicines, antimicrobial spatial modelling on soils, microbiota assessment and antimicrobial resistance genes occurrence and persistence in the domestic animal– wildlife interface. They are actively involved in the Spanish National plan on antimicrobial resistance in the environment.
IT on line tools on spatially distributed risk models for antibiotic contamination (residues and resistances) to orientate surveillance programs and help defining more precisely the risk scenarios to manage and communicate the risk in a better way (based on the soil vulnerability maps for antibiotic contamination develop by De la Torre et al., 2012. 10.1016/j.scitotenv.2011.10.032). Evaluation of antimicrobial resistance in the soil community using quantitative PCR of antimicrobial resistance genes and shotgun sequencing of the whole resistome.
