We have ongoing research and infrastructure on the treatment of runoff/ wastewater from informal settlements in Cape Town, using cost-effective biofiltration cells. We would like to assess the occurrence of AMR bacteria in runoff/wastewater from informal settlements and understand the role of low-cost nature-based wastewater treatment systems in ameliorating AMR for potential water reuse in agriculture.
