Antimicrobial Drug Resistance; Foodborne Bacterial pathogens; One Health Approach ;
I did my first degree in veterinary medicine, second degree in pharmacology and senior PhD student in Medical Microbiology. in addition, I took capacity building trainings in Iowa State University, USA, Ohio State University, USA and others. I have ample experience in publishing articles; some of my publications are available at: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=h0HBqK0AAAAJ&hl=en. I have an interest to conduct researches on antimicrobial drug resistance and contribute my experience for proper containment and prevention of the problem.
The available information regarding antimicrobial resistance is generally limited in the country. On the other hand, antimicrobial drugs are widely used and irrational or unwise usage is quite common. There are research outputs in the country that indicate the presence of resistant organisms in human, animal and in food items. The major limitations of the previous research outputs were considering a single entity and they didn’t relate the contribution of animals and their food products in the process of drug-resistant development and spread. What is missed in the current scientific information in the country is up to date, reliable and organized data on antimicrobial resistance. Therefore, assessing the status and contributing factors in the holistic approach is a very important mechanism to design and implement appropriate strategies. I am interested to generate data for evidence-based policies, decision makings, preparation of guidelines to control antimicrobial use in health care provision centers, communities, agriculture, aquaculture, and veterinary medicine; and support educational efforts aimed at mitigating current and emerging hazards and search locally derived solutions to mitigate antimicrobial drug resistance.
