This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 13th call - One Health interventions to prevent or reduce the development and transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Human Health Animal Health Environment
antibiotic alternatives; AMR diagnostics; manure management; livestock; metagenomics;
I am an animal scientist with a background in veterinary science. I have been conducted AMR research at animal, farm and system level that took holistic approach (farm to fork) and used natural and social science approaches. I have links with relevant industries. My expertise includes: 1) animal experiments (cattle and poultry) to understand emergence and transmission of AMR in the gut and then to the environment 2) lab experiments and gut models to understand the mechanism underlying novel effects of any existing/new dietary interventions 3) use of metagenomics to understand the mechanisms underlying the evolution of AMR in various physiological and environmental niches 4) development of a tool for rapid profiling of AMR (useful in assessing impact at small and large scale) 5) manure management strategies to reduce AMR and remove antibiotic residues from manure/waste 6) social science studies to identify factors that influence antibiotic use in the livestock sector and to develop strategies that could reduce the use of antibiotics/reduce the emergence and spreading of AMR
I would like to join projects that aim to assess existing interventions/develop and implement innovative interventions to reduce the likelihood of emerging AMR on livestock farms and minimise spreading of AMR from animals to human food chain. I would like to join projects taking holistic and farm-to-fork approach.
