antimicrobial peptides; murine skin infection; treatment MRSA
Our group has a long track record on bacteriocin research. This includes bacteriocin screening, purification, functional genetics, receptor identification and mode of action studies. We aim to understand how bacteriocins interact with their receptors on target cells and the molecular interactions that lead to the killing of target cells. We have an increasing interest in applied research, especially to develop bacteriocins into drugs to fight antibiotic-resistant pathogens. We have developed a murine skin infection model with a lux-tag very useful for infection and treatment studies.
Any research related to AMR and alternative approaches to fight against AMR, Listeria; VRE, and MRSA.
