Foodborne pathogens; food microbiology; food hygiene; antibiotic resistance; bacteriophage applications
My team has extensive experience in the characterization of foodborne bacterial pathogens, determination of antibiotic resistance and biocontrol with bacteriophage applications. We also have studies on the operationalization of One Health. E.g., our recent relevant works; DİKER et al. (2020). Base study for the establishment of national Salmonella control program in hatching farms and table eggs in Turkey. Turk J Vet Anim Sci, 44: 343-349. AYAZ et al. (2019). Plasmid-mediated colistin resistance in Escherichia coli O157:H7 cattle and sheep isolates and whole-genome sequence of a colistin-resistant sorbitol fermentative Escherichia coli O157:H7. Microbial Drug Resistance. 25(10): 1497-1506. CUFAOGLU and AYAZ (2019). Listeria monocytogenes risk associated with chicken at slaughter and biocontrol with three new bacteriophages. J Food Saf. e12621. AYAZ et al. (2018). Prevalence and characterization of Listeria monocytogenes isolated from beef and sheep carcasses in turkey with characterization of locally ısolated listeriophages as a control measure. Journal of Food Protection. 81(12): 2045–2053. General Directorate of Agricultural Research (TAGEM). National Veterinary Antibiotic Resistance Monitoring Project COST Action CA18217
I\'d like to contribute to a project with characterization of foodborne bacterial pathogens, determination of antibiotic resistance, biocontrol with bacteriophage applications and operationalization of One Health.
