This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 13th call - One Health interventions to prevent or reduce the development and transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Human Health
rapid diagnostic test; biosensor; Pseudomonas; carbapenemase; pneumonia
My group specializes in developing rapid methods for detecting pathogens and mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance. We aim to provide tools that will help clinicians personalize antibiotic treatments. We have developed rapid diagnostic tests that detect respiratory infections by Pseudomonas aeruginosa in less than 10 min. It combines a proprietary method for ultrafast liquefaction of respiratory samples (patent application P202030403) with mobile biosensors for pathogen detection (patent application PCT/EP2020/075013. DOI: 10.1021/acssensors.0c01618 We have also developed a culture-independent method for detecting carbapenemase-producing pathogens in urine and sputum samples in less than 3 h. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.snb.2020.129059
We are willing to contribute our technology for the rapid detection of bacteria and/or carbapenemase-resistant pathogens in any project aiming at improving patient care.
