natural products; drug discovery; strain collection; microbial extracts; fermentation
FIIRV is a non-profit organization with large expertise in antimicrobial research, showed by recent finding of numerous products in our site, including dalbavancin. Our natural product discovery platform covers the entire workflow: strain isolation, fermentation, extracts preparation, assay development, high–throughput-screening (HTS) and compound profiling. Assets include a strain library (16700), ready-to-screen extracts library (35000), DNA actinomycete samples (5000) and a chemical componds library (10000).
We are interested in projects involving the investigation of our collections targeting innovative interventions to control the development and transmission of AMR. Current hit molecules from FIIRV screening runs can be improved by medicinal chemistry and/or biotransformation programs.
