I am a veterinarian working at a medical school. I have doing research in antimicrobial agents to determine the resistance patterns in human (urine and stool) samples and animals

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

UTIs are generally managed using the conventional antimicrobials, however the regular use of these agents has resulted into increased resistance. In conjunction to this, the diagnosis of UTIs in children is not easily distinguished from other febrile diseases. Furthermore, health facilities in low setting communities are unlikely to carry out antimicrobial tests due to limited facilities and human resources. We intend to determine UTIs among children, establish the specific pathogens and their antimicrobial resistance and upscaling diagnostic tests which are easily adoptable in rural settings
