16th JPIAMR transnational call for research projects - AMR diagnostics and surveillance 2023 (DISTOMOS)

This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 16th call -AMR diagnostics and surveillance 2023 (DISTOMOS).

General Information

  • Type: Partner looking for project
  • Organisation: Vilnius university
  • Country: Lithuania (LT)
  • Career stage: Other.

Research area

  • Scientific area(s) of the call:
    1. Topic 1: to develop novel, or improve existing, diagnostics, including point of care diagnostics, that can rule out antimicrobial use or help identify the most effective antimicrobial treatment
  • One Health Setting:

    Human Health

Animal Health (incl. wild-life, livestock, acquatic organisms, and companion animals)

  • Keywords:

recombinant protein genetic engineering yeast expression system diagnostic tests

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

We can provide expertise in the development of recombinant proteins. We have a long–term experience in gene engineering and specialize in the expression of proteins in transformed yeast cells. Yeast-produced proteins could be used to build prototypes of POC devices. Recently we started working on the expression of different carbapenemases (KPC, OXA-48, VIM, IMP, SME-3, DHA1, CMY-34, and NDM) in E. coli. We could generate new tools for developing recombinant vaccines, new gene delivery systems, and diagnostic reagents. The recombinant antigens could be valuable tools for the development of diagnostic assays.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

We could join a project involving the evaluation of diagnostic assays for point-of-care testing and disease surveillance. We could develop diagnostic tools that can detect different bacterial strains.
