This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 16th call -AMR diagnostics and surveillance 2023 (DISTOMOS).
Gram-negative bacteria; molecular epidemiology; beta-lactamases; clonal dissemination; horizontal AMR gene transfer
For more than 20 years, I was a member of a team involved in epidemiological analysis of human infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria producing new types of beta-lactamases (ESBLs, AmpC cephalosporinases, carbapenemases MBL KPC and OXA-48-like). The scientific work in which I participated concerned the epidemiological situation of the above-mentioned infections in Poland and, in cooperation with numerous foreign centres, also internationally. I was a member of a research team carrying out various national scientific projects, as well as those carried out by international consortia, e.g. under the 6th EU Framework Programme (COBRA and MOSAR projects). Recently, I have adapted my experience gained in molecular epidemiology of human pathogens to epidemiological studies of environmental microorganisms. Currently, I am the head of a team focusing on the molecular epidemiology of beta-lactam resistant Enterobacterales found in wastewater. However, I do not exclude extending our research interests to microorganisms found in other environments.
We are interested in collaborating on a project involving the identification of AMR genes and bacterial clones, and mechanisms of resistance spread among Gram-negative bacilli from different environments.
