This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 16th call -AMR diagnostics and surveillance 2023 (DISTOMOS).
Human Health
Environment (incl. natural and built)river\'s monitoring; natural environment; qPCR; antibioric resistance genes; antibiotic resistant bacteria
I\'m Federica Mauri Researcher at Institute of Microbiology (SUPSI), Mendrisio Switzerland. since 2022 I\'m the responsible of Hygen and Environment sector. I\'ve finished my phD (analysis, protection and managment of biodiversity) in 2015. The main topic of my thesis was the use of Aeromonas spp. as a model for monitoring the impact and diffusion of antibiotic compounds in water environments. In 2016 I\'ve started a monitoring program of rivers and Lake (Lugano Lake) of Ticino Region (Switzerland) to control the distribution of antibiotic resistance genes and bacteria in the environment. In 2020 we started a surveillance program for detection of SARS-Cov-2 in waste water treatment plant. Within my research group we have the espertise in: - Water monitoring - qPCR - RTqPCR - MiNion metabarcoding and transcriptomics - Removal and control of Micropollutant from wastewater treatment plant. Publications: - Carnelli A., Mauri F., and Demarta A. 2017. “Characterization of Genetic Determinants Involved in Antibiotic Resistance in Aeromonas Spp. and Fecal Coliforms Isolated from Different Aquatic Environments.” Research in Microbiology. - Fereidoun Khajehnouri, Archjana Elangko, Lucilia Pointet, Stéphanie Barbier, Christophe Di Stadio, Patrik Castiglioni, Davide Staedler, Laurène Rochat, Federica Mauri, Elisa Pianta. 2022. Distribution and quantification of antibiotic resistance genes in a large subalpine lake (Lugano Lake) and tributary rivers. Submitted.
I offer our experience with the aim of joining a consortium involved in AMR surveillance and with the interest of exploring others One Health settings. As insitute of Microbiology we have direct contacts with main local institutions that could be interested to be project parteners (e.g. Cantonal offices of human health and veterinary, waste-water treatment plant operators...).
