  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

The Molecular Diagnosis in Clinical Microbiology group is located in the Puerta del Mar University Hospital, reference hospital for more than a million population in southern Spain (Cádiz), with a multidisciplinary profile and extensive experience focused on the application of state-of-the-art techniques for the study of microbiological diseases and antimicrobial resistances, highlighting foodborne and zoonotic pathogens. We are currently working in the resistome and the virulome of foodborne pathogens such as Campylobacter, Salmonella, and Vibrio. What we offer: - Clinical isolates provides from samples processed at the Clinical Microbiology Unit of the hospital, with a proportion of samples related to the size of the referent population for Campylobacter, Salmonella, Vibrio, and Listeria as foodborne zoonotic infections. - The possibility of incorporate sequencing techniques for the study of antimicrobial resistance markers, including microbial whole genome and plasmids, with both Illumina and Oxford Nanopore technologies. - Collaboration in the bioinformatic analysis and included to the Siega System, as a platform for sequencing bacterial strains in a one-Health context (https://www.clinbioinfosspa.es/projects/siega/)
