16th JPIAMR transnational call for research projects - AMR diagnostics and surveillance 2023 (DISTOMOS)

This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 16th call -AMR diagnostics and surveillance 2023 (DISTOMOS).

General Information

  • Project title: Ultra-sensitive dendritic diagnostic devices suited for infection screening
  • Type: Project looking for partner
  • Organisation: KTH Royal Institute of Technology
  • Country: Sweden (SE)
  • Career stage: Other.

Research area

  • Scientific area(s) of the call:
    1. Topic 1: to develop novel, or improve existing, diagnostics, including point of care diagnostics, that can rule out antimicrobial use or help identify the most effective antimicrobial treatment
  • One Health Setting:

    Human Health

Animal Health (incl. wild-life, livestock, acquatic organisms, and companion animals)

  • Keywords:

Rapid diagnostic; Biosensors; Nanosurfaces; Multivalency; Dendritic technologies

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

We are looking for clinical researcher group that have overall understanding of current bottle-neck in standard-of-care diagnostic used in hospitals as well as have access to clinically relevant samples including bacteria strains. Additionally, we are searching for partners that have experiences in device manufacturing suited for diagnostic devices.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

The potential project is centred on developing ultra-sensitive diagnostic devices to improve current point-of-care technologies. In this context, the we will explore a bottom-up build-up of highly branched dendritic surfaces comprising different configurations and at the nanometer scale- The proposed dendritic nanotechnology can be hybridized with established diagnostic device manufacturing and is envisioned to yield enhanced detection via multivalent interactions and thereof better readout with respect to best treatment option.
