This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 16th call -AMR diagnostics and surveillance 2023 (DISTOMOS).

General Information

  • Type: Partner looking for project
  • Organisation: Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, Marmara Research Center
  • Country: Turkey (TR)
  • Career stage: Early Career Researcher (up to 8 years** since PhD).

Research area

  • Scientific area(s) of the call:
    1. Topic 1: to develop novel, or improve existing, diagnostics, including point of care diagnostics, that can rule out antimicrobial use or help identify the most effective antimicrobial treatment
  • One Health Setting:

    Human Health

Animal Health (incl. wild-life, livestock, acquatic organisms, and companion animals)
    Plants (incl. trees and crops)

  • Keywords:

molecular dynamics simulations of biomolecules and surfaces; molecular docking; molecular modelling; computer based antibody engineering

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

I am a computational biologist and my primary expertise is on the molecular dynamics simulations of biomolecules (proteins/peptides in particular as well as biomolecular interfaces, e.g. membranes). I also use a variety of molecular docking tools (e.g Autodock Vina, HADDOCK) and free energy calculation methods (Umbrella Sampling, MM-PBSA) for screening and identification of novel compounds that can be used for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

I would like to join projects that seek an in silico guidance for the development and/or repurposing of novel antimicrobial peptides and/or compounds that can be used as novel diagnostics.
