    Isolation and characterization of phages active on EHEC from human, animal and food samples; induction of phages from E. coli strains; study of the relationship with their hosts and selection in a phage therapy approach; sequencing of phage genomes; developing procedures to modify phages. We are a group of microbiologists and biotechnologists with with twenty years of experience on physiology of food bacteria and yeasts working at State University of Milan.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

    We would like to work on: using of natural lytic phages against any multidrug-resistant bacteria; modifying phages for enhancing antibacterial activity or broadening the host range; studying endolysins as alternative antimicrobials; developing of phage-based tools for fast pathogen detection.
