  • One Health Setting:

    Human Health

Animal Health (incl. wildlife, livestock, acquatic organisms, and companion animals)
    Environment (incl. natural and built)

  • Keywords:

Pathogen antimicrobial resistance whole genome sequencing nanopore bioinformatics

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

Nano1Health (N1H; www.nano1health.com) emerges as an essential ally in the fight against antibiotic resistance, offering a robust platform for genomic innovation. By integrating the expertise of veterinarians, geneticists, and bioinformaticians, the core activities and expertise areas of N1H reflect their focus on cutting-edge genomic research and diagnostics, as well as our approach to tackling health challenges that intersect humans, animals, and the environment, addressing zoonotic diseases. Our interdisciplinary team excels in deciphering microorganisms genomics and resistance mechanisms, contributing to global One Health initiatives. The advanced genomics capabilities offered by N1H, including state-of-the-art sequencing and bioinformatic analysis, align perfectly with the goals of European consortia addressing antibiotic resistance. We are dedicated to advancing research, enhancing diagnostic accuracy, and fostering collaborative breakthroughs with academic leaders in the field.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

Nano1Health (N1H) could participate in a European consortium project aimed at the development of rapid diagnostic tools for the detection of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in clinical settings. The project would leverage N1H’s expertise in genomic sequencing and bioinformatics to quickly identify resistance genes from patient samples, thus enabling timely and appropriate treatment interventions. The consortium would work closely with hospitals and academic institutions to integrate these tools into a clinical workflow, contributing to more effective containment and treatment strategies for antibiotic-resistant infections.
