Topic 2: Improve and/or, compare and/or evaluate strategies, technologies, treatments, methods, protocols or data collection based on existing interventions, aiming to prevent or reduce the emergence or spread of antibacterial or antifungal resistance or to treat/cure infections caused by resistant bacteria/fungi and recommend new policies.

  Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) stands as Sweden\'s foremost research institute and innovation partner, comprising a multidisciplinary constellation of over 3,000 researchers, scientists and problem-solvers with a broad range of skills. RISE has a broad infrastructure, experience in large project consortiums within AMR (e.g., IMI-ENABLE, Antibiotic Smart Sweden, ReSist, PLATINEA, FORMAMP), and is permanently open to establishing new collaborations and participating in the preparation of project proposals. Our research teams possess expertise within microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, biomaterials, immunology, chemistry, biochemistry, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metagenomics, bioinformatics and AI, among others. Depending on your project, you could collaborate with different partners that have experience in, for example: Antibiotic resistance quantification through culture-based methods, qPCR or metagenomic; Handling and analysis of wastewater and environmental samples; Wastewater-based epidemiology; Antibiotic resistance characterization through culture-based methods, PCR, sequencing or proteomics; Antimicrobial susceptibility testing; Horizontal gene transfer; Selection experiments; Biofilms; Genomic and proteomic characterization of antibiotic resistant strains; Accurate strain typing and identification; Plasmid typing and characterization; Biomarker discovery; Development of novel antimicrobial compounds; Development of methods for rapid diagnostics.   We at RISE have ongoing research focused on infection control, development and evaluation of medical devices and pharmaceutical products, assessment of AMR development, discovery of biomarkers and development of methods for rapid diagnostics.
