I am seeking excellent, collaborative, and nice people from various disciplines such as sociology, data/STS studies, geography, digital humanities, data art, and computer science. In particular, I invite people with different methodological backgrounds to join the project, including survey and interview methods, semi-experimental design and computational text analysis, etc. If you are passionate about this project idea and possess the necessary expertise, I would be delighted to have you join our team. I am an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in data technologies (data, algorithms, AI), social transformations, and spatial mobilities. In the recently established TalTech DataLab team, we employ a combination of computational and critical data study approaches to gain a deeper understanding of the social changes associated with data technologies. If you would like more information about me and my team, please visit the following links: https://taltech.ee/datalab and https://www.etis.ee/CV/Anu_Masso/eng.
This project aims to address the rapid social transformations resulting from the increased use of data, algorithms, and artificial intelligence, with the goal of enhancing human well-being. These changes have led to significant disruptions, particularly when data is transferred between different social contexts. While this implementation process often yields positive outcomes and promotes human flourishing, it also gives rise to various negative consequences and systemic disruptions. The objective of this project is to contribute to the ongoing discussions surrounding these issues by providing theoretical and empirical explanations, focusing on areas such as health, spatial mobility, education, and more. I am looking forward hearing about potential partners and for the excellent collaboration!
