• Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

  I have over 10 years of extensive experience and expertise in the field of "E-Mental-Health" and international research project management. This includes development, scientific testing, implementation and clinical/practical use of online programs, most recently for younger populations in school and higher educational settings. I have conducted and lead studies on online programs and internet usage behavior of patients with mental illnesses with several hundred patients, in which programs were tested for their applicability and effectiveness. Furthermore, I am a scientific advisor in the Advisory Board/Data Safety Monitoring Board of several large-scale studies, e.g. the MasterMind project (MAnagement of mental health diSorders Through advancEd technology and seRvices - telehealth for the MIND), funded by the European Commission. Additionally, I am a member of the PhD Commission 10 of the Medical Faculty of the University of Leipzig, a member of the Clinical Ethics Committee at the University Hospital Leipzig, a member of the Examination Commission for Psychological Psychotherapists of the Saxony State Directorate and a member of the Visiting Commission for Psychiatry of the Free State of Saxony. I lead the Psychiatric Institute Outpatient Clinic of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychiatry of the University of Leipzig as well as the special outpatient clinic for obsessive-compulsive disorders, schizophrenia, depression and peripartum psychiatric disorders.I thus combine clinical knowledge on mental disorders with extensive experience in the field of online interventions.

• Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

  Together with my working group „E-Mental-Health“, we are interested in understanding and enhancing the mental-health/well-being of younger populations in educational settings and to develop innovative online prevention and intervention measures. The integration of digital interventions in diagnostics and therapy plays an increasingly important role in the care of mental health problems. Digital-based interventions have offered enormous potential through facilitated availability throughout the pandemic and for young persons in particular, going through the vulnerable phase of secondary and higher education. Schools and higher education settings are therfore a promising way of reaching/targeting that population but challenging at the same time. Any other project including online interventions or virtual reality would also be very welcome.
