  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

Particular attention is paid to achieving human well-being at country level. On the other hand, biodiversity has been declining at an alarming rate in recent years, and several key factors cause an increase in honeybee colony mortality. The concept of “One Welfare” recognises the interconnexions between animal welfare, human well-being, environment and agricultural production. Several studies show the need for greater scientific research examining the link between these components. The aim of this project is to develop a global framework and to co-create, with all the stakeholders involved, self-assessment tools to evaluate these four factors: biodiversity, honeybee welfare, beekeeper well-being and beekeeping productivity. Multicriteria analyses of the most effective levers will be performed to evaluate their economic, social, and environmental impacts based on the “One Welfare” concept emphasizing bee and human welfare and environmental health. Using a citizen science approach, this project could foster interdisciplinary collaboration to improve human and bee welfare. It helps to describe context, deepens our understanding of the factors involved and create a holistic and solution-oriented approach to well-being issue. As part of this project, we are looking for expertise in sustainable economic evaluation, well-being measurement and biodiversity evaluation.
