Nature green areas resiliene pandemic climate change
We have experience as enviromental planners in behavioral studies on the relationship of contact with nature on individual wellbeing in its diverse dimensions (from minimization of negative symptoms, the enhancment of resilience, the influence on self-awareness, self-consciousness and other aspects of the perception of life and capacities/capabilities to its role for social embededness and overal satisfaction with life) as well as a public health sciences perspective and look for expertise from psychological and/ or social sciences
In an interdisciplinary team we will survey from a cross-country perspective, whether and to what extent the experiences made during the pandemic created a transformation in the role and valuation of nature as a resource for health and wellbeing and which implications result from changes in lifestyle and experiences made during these times to a post-pandemic nature-wellbeing relationship. Examinations will include the perspective on the (future) role of contact with nature and urban/ near urban grean areas in times of global climate change in relation to individual, group and societal wellbeing. At the same time we look at low and non-users of green areas as well as those with limited access to them to explore the impacts on individual and group wellbeing.
