We seek partners who are experts in adolescents\' development and/or social-emotional learning. Researchers experienced in studying/applying positive youth development models are especially welcome to take the leadership role. However, we would like to collaborate also with researchers from those countries where the PYD model has not yet been applied.
The main aim of the project is to propose and evaluate an integrated perspective on the positive development of adolescents in the European context that will serve as a conceptual and empirical basis for enhancing adolescents’ thriving through efforts directed at the empowerment of the self, perceived as being embedded in, and related with, the social world and cultural values. To reach this aim, we will try to integrate the current knowledge on positive youth development (PYD) in the European context, building on the existing models and proposals: the Lerner and Lerner model of Positive Youth Development (Lerner et al., 2015), the revised 4-H Thriving Model (Arnold & Gagnon, 2020), and the CASEL model of social and emotional learning (CASEL, 2012), in the broad frame of relational developmental systems (RDS) metatheory (Overton, 2015) and the bioecological model of human development (PPCT; Bronfenbrenner & Morris, 2007).
