We\'ll welcome experts with the same background or from economics, life sciences, or other fields.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

The scientific project aims to unravel the factors most contributing to psychological and subjective well-being by synthesizing insights from four critical domains: genetics and physical characteristics, micro- and macro-environment, attitudes and behaviors, and chance and random events. The uniqueness of the project lies in its interdisciplinary approach, pooling expertise from various fields that correlate with these four areas. This will allow us to provide novel insights into how these factors interrelate in terms of their relative significance to well-being. To achieve this, we\'re adopting a two-stage approach. The first stage leverages existing panel data related to well-being and involves a systematic review of the current literature. This stage will heavily rely on the expertise of our national team to access and analyze relevant data sets. A novel aspect of our approach is to identify clusters of participants exhibiting high and low levels of well-being, which will then be analyzed to discern the differentiating factors. This information will form the basis for knowledge-sharing activities and will help us fine-tune the research model for the main study, including the selection of the most pertinent factors across the four primary domains. The second stage involves an innovative, longitudinal study using a diary method to gather data over time. Beyond self-reported measures, we\'ll utilize various objective metrics collected through wearables to give us a more holistic view of well-being. These two stages combined will not only help identify but also weigh the relative importance of various factors affecting well-being. By the end of this project, we aim to offer a comprehensive, multidisciplinary understanding of what truly constitutes well-being, thereby influencing policy and individual lifestyle choices for a healthier, happier society.
