  The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca is the largest technical university in Transylvania and one of the best technical universities in Romania (A class (top) research university in Computer Science and Information Technology). The Distributed Systems Research Laboratory – DSRL (https://dsrl.eu/), part of the Computer Science Department, has extensive experience in many fields of distributed systems-related research areas such as machine learning (ML), Active Assisted Living (AAL), Internet of Things (IoT) and big data analytics, blockchain, edge and decentralized peer to peer computing. DSRL has extensive experience in European Active Assisted Living (AAL) projects where its role spans from project coordinator (AAL engAGE - https://engage-aal-project.eu/ and AAL H2HCare - https://h2hcare-aal.eu/) to lead technical partner and work package leader. DSRL has developed an adaptable big data and machine learning infrastructure capable of integrating data from various sensors (fitness trackers, sleep sensors, smart scales, pillboxes, etc.), software agents (e.g. cognitive games), and self-reporting activities (questioners) and using this data as input to ML algorithms (e.g. neural networks) in order to: (i) assess the cognitive state of mild cognitive impaired older adults (engAGE), (ii) managing the health state of older adults and personalizing their monitoring and care plans (H2HCare), (iii) evaluating the cognitive profile of an older adult and personalize older adult-social robot interaction (AAL ReMember-Me - https://www.rememberme-aal.eu/), (iv) engaging older adults in memory stimulating activities by suggesting events from their past (AAL ReMIND - https://www.aalremind.eu/) and (v) offer support for polypharmacy and assess medicine intake (AAL MedGUIDE - http://medguide-aal.eu/). Other AAL projects worth mentioning are DIET4Elders and Elders-UP! as well as H2020 Catalyst, eDREAM, and Bright. For the H2020 projects, DSRL has developed energy demand and flexibility aggregation, prediction, and optimization in smart grids and data centers.

• Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

  DSRL is looking to join ambitious Wellbeing consortiums where it can take up tasks and activities related to the research and development of: ML/AI models, techniques and algorithms, big data processing and analytics, - social robots interaction and personalization, and blockchain technologies. Also DSRL can be involved in activities such as: technologies integration, evaluation, and testing or dissemination and collaboration.
