IBIMA is a space for multidisciplinary research in biomedicine and nanomedicine that is centered around the Regional and Virgen de la Victoria University Hospitals in Malaga, together with Primary Care, the biotechnological groups of the University of Malaga and the Andalusian Centre for Nanomedicine and Biotechnology (BIONAND). Its objective is to promote research of excellence, preferably oriented towards translational research, favoring the obtaining of results transferable to clinical practice, biotechnological and applications. It enables the development and promotion of a multidisciplinary biomedical and nanomedicine research space that contributes to the scientific foundation of the programs and policies of the National Health System, preferably promoting translational research at the biomolecular , clinical , epidemiological and technological levels that facilitates the transfer of the scientific advances obtained in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the most prevalent health problems at the regional, national and international level. IBIMA integrates more than 70 research groups from the University of Malaga and the Public Health System of the health centers that comprise. The research areas of the Institute are: • Cardiovascular diseases, obesity and diabetes. Environmental determinants and lifestyle • Oncology and Hematology • Neurosciences, Chronicity, Aging and Health in vulnerable populations. • Autoimmune, infectious, inflammation and allergy diseases • Nanodiagnostics • Nanosystems and Advanced Therapies • IBIMA Rare - rare diseases (Transversal area) • IBIMA Tech - Health Technology and Innovation Area (Transversal area)
In this case, we can participate with mental health and nutrition research groups, contributing with this expertise to consortium are needing as biomedical experts.
