  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

We are looking for the cooperation of both American and Ukrainian partners. Our areas of scientific interest regard: 1) Plasma technologies: non-thermal atmospheric plasma reactors (gliding arc, plasma jets, dielectric barrier discharge DBDs, and their supply systems). The reactors can possess different configurations: multielectrode, multiphase (power supply), construction variations, and technological gases used (air, argon, nitrogen, etc.). We have experience with the use of plasma reactors for ozone treatment of soil and disinfection of insect pests. We also performed initial tests and achieved promising results on the production of NOx species with the use of a gliding arc plasma reactor, as the plasma-generating gas air was used. 2) Superconductive devices such as Fault Current Limiters (SFCL) and cables. It includes designing, constructing, testing, and numerically modeling SFCLs working in different regimes. The cables (MgB₂) are our new issue, and we just started to work in this direction. We also specialize in soldering second-generation superconducting tapes (2G HTS) without losing their superconducting properties. We are also planning to start our new research on the thin superconducting films and build a facility for their production (based on sputtering or related techniques in vacuum). 3) 2D nanomaterials such as nanocomposites, nanofluids, and thin film semiconductors as well as materials including carbon nanotubes. Our interests relate to the issues of synthesis, structural-chemical characterization, optical properties, electrical properties (especially), magnetic properties, etc. The mechanisms of charge transport in the nanomaterials, dielectric polarization and relaxation mechanisms, the electric percolation phenomenon, electrochemical impedance (or dielectric) spectroscopy of 2D nanomaterials, different kinds of treatment of nanostructures, and their impact on the physico-chemical properties, as well as the search for applications of nanomaterials in electrical engineering, energy, electronics, automation, and space technologies are within the scope of our interests.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

The vision of our project concerns the sustainable development of the energy sector through the use of clean, safe, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, energy-efficient plasma, superconducting, and nanotechnology technologies. We want to contribute to the development of both individual technologies mentioned, as well as those working in synergy for certain industrial applications, i.e., in agriculture, power engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, biomedicine, etc. The project will include the following activities: 1) Scientific research with partners on the above-mentioned areas (specific research tasks will be established together with partners); As a result of the cooperation, we anticipate joint research articles, a scientific monograph (described in more detail in point 3), participation in conferences, possible joint patents, and submission of a joint project application to a competition financed by American, Polish, or Ukrainian organizations. 2) Study visits of students and their supervisors, as well as young scientists and experienced researchers from the above-mentioned areas. The visits will take place between partner units. Rather short-term, up to 14 days. During the visits there will be laboratory classes, scientific seminars, student workshops, technical meetings, socio-cultural events, etc. 3) Writing a joint scientific monograph on the subject of green applications of plasma, superconducting, and nanomaterial technologies in the environment, agriculture, and other types of life and health industries. Each partner (students, PhD students, young and experienced scientists) will develop part of the monograph depending on their research competences. 4) Joint organization of an international scientific conference on the subject of the project. We have extensive experience in organizing scientific conferences in Poland at the international level. Therefore, we initially propose Poland (Lublin, Nałęczów, Chełm, Kazimierz Dolny) or the United States (the choice of location depends on the partner) as the country of the conference. Details will be discussed directly with the partners. 5) Project and technical meetings, seminars, and scientific lectures online. All details regarding the above-mentioned activities will be discussed directly with partners. We have experience in implementing similar international projects. We kindly invite you to contact us!
