Antibodies; Protein engineering; Immunotherapy
I am an antibody engineer working on therapeutic or diagnostic antibody development, focusing on affinity, specificity, stability and manufacturability optimization. I work with both mammalian and microbial recombinant expression systems and analyze protein quality using various biochemical and biophysical assays. I am particularly interested in the use of antibodies to enhance or restore antimicrobial susceptibility and to target virulence factors. I seek collaboration with groups working on antimicrobial resistance infection models, antimicrobial screening, immunomodulation, delivery systems and clinical translation, where antibody-based tools could be combined to improve treatment outcome.
I aim to contribute to a project focused on combination therapies that pair antibody treatments/diagnostics with antimicrobials to combat antimicrobial resistance. It can involve generating high-affinity antibodies against AMR-associated targets, such as virulence factors, membrane proteins, quorum sensing components, or biofilm-formers. Antibodies may be used to disrupt pathogen survival mechanisms, increase antimicrobial susceptibility, neutralize toxins, or prevent adhesion, allowing existing antibiotics to remain effective longer. I can support antibody discovery, engineering, production, purification and functional characterization, and contribute to in vitro binding/neutralization assays and mechanistic studies. I would be interested in joining consortia aiming to test antibodies, evaluate resistance reversal potential, or develop novel therapeutic formats (antibody fragments, fusion constructs, bispecific antibodies). I am open to both preclinical and translational research settings.
